Mischa Bredewold has convincingly won the GP Lorient Agglomération Trophée Ceratizit. After Team SD Worx controlled the entire race, the 23-year-old Dutch rider prevailed in the final sprint. "This was a chaotic uphill final sprint. I saw a gap and dived in. With success," said an overjoyed Bredewold.

Bredewold is considered one of the greatest Dutch talents. This was evident when she was selected for the pros for the first time last World Championships as a 23-year-old. She put those noble credentials to good use in Plouay by convincingly winning the sprint. "I am super happy with this. We were here with a strong team and were in control the whole race. When there were attacks, we were always there. As a result, you don't waste much energy."

In the finale, Marlen Reusser did bearish work by invariably bringing back the breakaway riders. At 1 kilometre from the finish, everyone had to pull out all the stops when the Swiss made a final acceleration. It cut off the breath of the rest, leaving it to a sprint. "I saw a gap and dived in. That did force me to go on early, but I felt super strong today. It was very chaotic in the sprint. Luckily that suits me really well," Bredewold said.

"Not only the final sprint was hectic. The whole day was watchful. This race is characterised by nervousness and a lot of turning and turning. There is also a lot of road furniture and that was not always equipped with proper protection. It is part of the race, of course, but it was still dangerous at times. I crashed myself too. I dove straight into the gutter, but fortunately without serious injury. I felt good all day. To have such a nice one-day race to my name makes me really happy," Bredewold concluded.
