In the third stage between Emmeloord and Lelystad in the Simac Ladies Tour, the expected wind was absent. No fans, therefore, but a long breakaway. Team SD Worx alone led the chase to force a bunch sprint. In that it came to a duel between Lorena Wiebes and Charlotte Kool, in which the latter sprinted to victory. "We did nothing wrong in the sprint preparation. We were knocked for value," concluded sports manager Danny Stam.

In the stage between Emmeloord and Lelystad, a trio was given free rein by the peloton. The lead grew to eight minutes, until Team SD Worx gave chase and forced a bunch sprint. Danny Stam: "I didn't expect any help from the other teams. In the sprint, Lorena Wiebes finished third. When Henderson attacked, Lorena jumped right away, but she had to hold back. Charlotte Kool passed on the right with speed and then Lorena did not get alongside. We can conclude that we did something rigorously wrong in the preparation. So we were knocked for value in the sprint."

On Saturday, the flat open terrain in the Simac Ladies Tour will be swapped for the hills around Valkenburg. "Limburg is an area that suits us. With Lotte Kopecky, Lorena Wiebes and Demi Vollering, we have three riders who are well placed in the general classification. The stage will undoubtedly be more intense than today. We are looking forward to that," concluded Stam.
