Barbara Guarischi will ride her first season for Team SD Worx in 2023. The Italian rider calls it a dream to ride for the best team in the world: "I was already honoured when I heard through Elena that the team was interested in me. Although I have been in the peloton for years, I see this as a new chapter in my career. It's a switch I didn't expect would happen anymore. I am also looking forward to working with Lorena Wiebes. I am hugely motivated to take on this adventure."

Indeed, Guarischi fits perfectly into the sprint train that Team SD Worx is setting up for Lorena Wiebes. "We have never had a real sprint train before, but now a lead-out train for Lorena Wiebes is necessary. Barbara Guarischi is an ideal reinforcement to prepare the sprint," says sporting manager Danny Stam. "She is an experienced rider who knows perfectly how to choose position in a sprint. So she will play an important role in this. With Elena Cecchini, Christine Majerus, Lonneke Uneken and Barbara Guarischi, we are sufficiently armed to prepare the sprints."

Speaking about her excitement to work with Lorena Wiebes , Barbara Guarischi explained: "She is the best sprint star in the world. I think it's really cool to work with her, actually it's even a dream. Hopefully we will book many victories together. I also think it's special to ride with Elena Cecchini. We are really good friends and make each other stronger. My goals this year are to help the team where possible and if possible, take a win myself."
