Marlen Reusser is one of the two Team SD Worx newcomers. In 2021 she won Olympic silver in the individual time trial and became vice-world champion in the same discipline. It is no secret that time trials are her area of expertise, but she also does well in road races. “Strangely enough, I am prouder of my road achievements than my performance in the time trials. Everyone always focuses on the medals, but I tend to perform better against the clock than on the road. That is why I rate my performance on the road as my biggest achievements.”

Her main goal for this season, however, remains the world title in the individual time trials. “But above all I want to grow as a cyclist. I chose Team SD Worx because it is the best team in the world. I started cycling rather late in life, so my main aim is to learn. I will get the right training at SD Worx to become a better rider. I have everything I need here to be successful.”

Sporting director Danny Stam agrees. “We tend to dot our i's and cross our t's, but that is thanks to the interaction with our riders. We don't have a magic button that makes riders win all of a sudden, but we can provide the details to take that extra step forward. Marlen has a lot of qualities of her own and is a great asset to our team. Together we can make history.”
